Story Craft - Westminster Library Branch

Preschoolers ages 2 to 5 are invited to attend this four-week session. Stories, songs, and a simple craft highlight this interactive storytime.

This session begins on Wednesday, March 24th at 10:30 AM. Registration begins on Thursday, March 11th by phoning 519-829-4404.
 

Habitat for Humanity

In 2010, Habitat for Humanity Wellington County will build three homes in Guelph.  

We are accepting applications from eligible families interested in partnering with us to help build their own homes.   More information on the housing program and how to apply will be given at a public meeting to be held:

Open to students in Grades 7 through 12.
Being a teen can be challenging and exciting.
Explore a teen’s life in a world unlike your own
by submitting a fictional short story
(maximum 2,000 words) to any
Guelph Public Library Branch
by 5:00pm on Saturday, November 7th, 2009.
Your entries will be judged by popular TEEN fiction
authors Jane Lewis, Kenneth Oppel & Kathy Stinson,
along with the editors of What If? Magazine.
Winners will be announced at
our Teen Author Event in December.

Medication Clean-out Week

Safe Communities on the Grand has an answer to the common household question, "how can I get rid of old, unused medication?" 

From June 1st to 5th, Guelph residents can safely dispose of old or unused medication by taking it to any one of a number of Guelph pharmacies during Medication Clean-out Week, an initiative spearheaded by Safe Communities on the Grand and supported by the City of Guelph. 

Residents can empty their old or unused pills from their containers and place them in a plastic bag, then empty the bag into disposal containers at the following pharmacies: 

Royal City Pharmacy IDA, 84 Gordon Street
Westmount Pharmacy, 77 Westmount Street
Price Care Pharmacy, 281 Stone Road
Shoppers Drug Mart – Stone Road Mall, 435 Stone Road West
Shoppers Drug Mart – Clair Rd and Gordon Street, 7 Clair Road West
Campus Drug Mart – Campus Estate Shopping Centre, 35 Harvard Road
