Adult Only Event 
The CNG has organised an Adult Event to visit the Sleeman Brewery on Clair Road for a tour of the facility; join your neighbours and visit a business within the neighbourhood.
The date is booked for Monday 14th March – meet at Sleeman’s just before 7pm   There are up to 20 spaces available on a ‘first come/first paid/first served’ basis only.  There are approx 8 spaces remaining. Come out and celebrate St Patrick’s Day!  $4 per person in advance. Contact clairfields@gmail.com to reserve and pay for your spot.

CNG Monthly Meetings
We hold our meetings monthly on the 3rd Tuesday of each month
They start at 7pm at the Royal on Gordon Retirement Residence and run for approx 1.5 hours.
We average 4-5 residents at the meeting from the 1200 homes in our neighbourhood.  Read more...

Snippets Mid Feb 2011

Neighbours had fun at Winterfest- which was held last Sunday 6th February.
A great turn out of neighbours to mix and mingle - we saw about 75 people come out for fun in the snow at the park / ice rink at Gosling Gardens!  We had the opportunity to skate and snowshoe, enjoy a free hot chocolate or hot cider, snacks and cold drinks, and win items donated by the City. 
Thanks to those who came out and a big thank you to Jackie whose house backs onto the ice rink - she supplied power, extension cords, bathroom facilities, a stove to heat drinks and extra hockey sticks!  Great neighbours make great neighbourhoods! 

FREE De-icing Material- thanks to a concerned neighbour who contacted the City wondering why there were no Sand/Salt Mix Boxes south of Arkell. The Operations Department addressed this situation and located a box at the corner of Gibbs Cres and Clairfields Dr W.  Read more...

WINTERFEST
As we write, the weather is forecast to be very favourable for the first Winterfest event to be held in the Clairfields Neighbourhood – on Sunday – so just 6 days time -
 Sunday 6th February at Gosling Gardens Park, between 1pm and 4pm (times dependant on weather)
Winterfest is organised throughout the City involving many locations and has now been running in Guelph for the past 15 yrs.
The CNG needs help to organize the first Winterfest in our neighbourhood.  So far we have 5 residents who have come forward to help arrange hot chocolate and ice skating.
Let us start a Winterfest tradition here in our own area, with our new ice rink.  Read more...

CNG MONTHLY MEETINGS
To accommodate more people (than the regular 4 or 5), our regular monthly meeting date has changed to the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Thanks to the new faces that came out Tuesday night – it was great to meet you and hear from you.
Mark your calendars for the next meeting in February – Tuesday 15that 7pm at the Royal On Gordon Retirement Residence – go up the stairs to the library (park and enter on the Gosling Gardens parking side).
We REALLY need more people to come to our meetings – 1.5 hours once a month to share your ideas and give feedback about our community. There are 1500 homes in our neighbourhood and 4 people come to our meetings. February is Valentine’s – give the ‘love’ back to the neighbourhood!

WELCOME TO A WONDERFUL NEW YEAR IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD!
 
....and to some of you, Welcome Back to Snippets! There had been a few technical problems over the past few months which are now resolved.  It had meant that approx. 70 registered email addresses were not receiving all the email communications. CNG has now switched their website provider - if you do experience problems (cannot open email, or cannot read) – let us know.
 ‘Clairfields Neighborhood Group’ is now also on Facebook! 
We will continue with the Quarterly Newsletter delivered right to your door, and we will continue with Snippets twice a month – Facebook is just one more way of updating you with neighborhood events.
Log on at www.facebook.com, search for Clairfields Neighborhood Group, click ‘Like’ and you will be updated with messages.
