Neighbours Helping a Local Family in Need

We need your help to provide a Great Christmas to a family in need...

The Clairfields Neighbourhood has chosen to 'Adopt a Family' - a scheme run by the Children's Foundation of Guelph and Wellington to help a local family at this special time of year.   We need your support to provide a wonderful season to 'our' selected family who live in the Guelph area.

We have 'adopted' a family of a single dad, who has recently been made unemployed, with 2 children - Catherine,  a girl of 5yrs, Jesse,  a boy of 4 yrs.

I know that we have a kind and supportive neighbourhood and I know we can make a difference to this family.

We may be lucky enough to provide a wonderful time for our families and our children - here's the chance to give back a little to our community, or teach our children the spirit of the season.

Even a donation of $5-$10 from each family in our neighbourhood can make a huge difference to this family.

The family have a Wish List - which includes for the children "any new clothes"  (that part breaks my heart).

They also require bedding, and have listed puzzles, books, crafts, crayons, Dora items, Hot Wheels etc.

Hanlon Boardwalk

Saturday October 3rd, 9 AM to 5 PM & Sunday October 4th, 10 AM to 2 PM
Come on out for a few hours we will definitely need people for Saturday afternoon.  The work has a habit of going very quickly so the majority of the boardwalk building will likely be completed on Saturday.   We’ll finish the work on Sunday and continue some trail resurfacing.  These events are always a lot of fun and it is really great to get out and swing a hammer.  Be sure to spread the word and bring family and friends out for the event especially those of you that live near the property.  They should be great workdays and a lot of fun.  We’ll be building a couple of small bridges and doing a lot of trail work through the Hanlon Creek wetland to protect the integrity of the trees and to make the trail more suitable.  I’ll be providing lunch.  Cheers.  Dave  Read more...
